Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider) is a film adaptation of the popular Tomb Raider video game series featuring the character Lara Croft. It was released during the summer of 2001. Lara in the screen role was not portrayed as a CGI character, but was played by actress Angelina Jolie. The novelization of the movie was released in 2001 and was written by Mel Odom. Jolie was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award in 2001 for Worst Actress for her work in Tomb Raider and Original Sin.
During the summer of 2003, the sequel, Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, made its way into theatres across the United States and other countries around the world. |
